The 12 factors that drive up physician burnout

According to the American Medical Association, there are 12 external factors that can affect physician burnout. With the major stress of the COVID-19 pandemic and a call for action to combat physician burnout, it is important to address these 12 factors to improve professional well-being. The 12 factors include the health care industry, health care reform and payment policies, quality measurement and reporting, maintaining privacy and security, professional licensure and professional liability.
